Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in broad daylight outside a West Hollywood apartment, where a man visiting from San Francisco was targeted and robbed.
The incident took place around 5:45 p.m. on the 1100 block of Hacienda Place, just north of Santa Monica Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Security footage shows at least three masked individuals exiting a vehicle and confronting the victim with what appears to be a weapon.
“There were three masked men, all dressed in black, and they threw this guy down on the ground,” said Mike Pingel, who witnessed the incident.
The suspects reportedly stole several personal items from the victim, including a Rolex watch, a wedding ring, and a phone. According to Pingel, the thieves later discarded the phone.
“I can’t even explain the sheer terror,” Pingel told WeHo Times. “They weren’t even following him. They just stopped, saw him walking, and threw him to the ground and stole everything.”
As of now, no arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not yet released an estimated value of the stolen items.
