
West Hollywood’s biggest night of the year is here, and if you’re planning to hit Halloween Carnaval tonite here’s what you need to know before you roll out.
The city’s street party runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. along a one-mile stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard between N. Doheny Drive and N. La Cienega Boulevard. It’s free to attend and always a scene. Gurl! Get your best face on and then get to encounter massive crowds, iconic costumes, drunken revelry, some sexy time, and some serious road closures.
Here’s what matters most for anyone living, working, or coming to play on what is affectionately known in some circles as “Gay Christmas.”
Major Street Closures
North San Vicente Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue (including adjacent alleyways) from 12:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, to 7:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
Santa Monica Boulevard between Croft Avenue / Holloway Drive and La Cienega Boulevard from 10:00 a.m. Friday through 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
Santa Monica Boulevard between La Cienega Boulevard and North Doheny Drive (including alleyways between Robertson Blvd. and Palm Ave.) from 10:00 a.m. Friday through 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
Robertson Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Avenue from 10:00 a.m. Friday through 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
North San Vicente Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Cynthia Street from 10:00 a.m. Fridaythrough 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
La Cienega Boulevard between Holloway Drive and Melrose Avenue from 10:00 a.m. Friday through 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
Sunset Boulevard eastbound and westbound turn lanes onto southbound La Cienega Boulevard from 10:00 a.m. Friday through 6:00 a.m. Saturday.
Parking and Park Access
West Hollywood Park, including dog parks and basketball courts, will be closed from 12:01 a.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Saturday.
The West Hollywood Park parking structure and Library garage will both be closed all day Friday, reopening Saturday morning.
This is important: Residential permit parking will be lifted citywide from 11 a.m. Friday through noon Saturday, so visitors and residents can find more options nearby.
Getting There Safely
The city urges everyone to avoid driving if possible. Rideshares are your best bet. The WeHo Halloween Ride, a special free service from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m., will run along Santa Monica Boulevard between N. La Brea and N. Kings Road, with select shuttles running to and from the Hollywood/Highland Metro Station until midnight.

Safety Reminders from LASD and the City
Leave pets and young kids at home — the crowd can be overwhelming.
No alcohol along the route, and no drinking in public.
No weapons, no drones, and only clear plastic bags are allowed.
