WEHO PAC, the political action group of the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, has announced its endorsement of Richard Bloom for the 50th District’s state Assembly seat. Bloom, mayor of Santa Monica, is competing with current Assembly member Betsy Butler for the seat. Both are Democrats.
In announcing the endorsement on Friday (Nov. 2), Genevieve Morrill, CEO of the chamber, said “Mr. Bloom has an amazing background in business, nonprofit and government … The PAC was impressed with his candid responses in interviews about jobs, economic growth and the Westside, as well as a good balance of business and social issues that are important to the core values of the West Hollywood community.”
Bloom has served as a California Coastal Commissioner, chair of the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission, chair of the Westside Cities Council of Governments, and board member of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy,
