Looking for somewhere to watch election coverage tonight?
One option is The Abbey, where West Hollywood City Council member John Duran will emcee results as they are announced, and how they affect the LGBTQ community.
The popular food and bar will have 10 large screens dedicated to keeping track of Human Rights Campaign endorsed candidates and four state ballots that affect equal marriage. The issues of most interest at the viewing party will be: an amendment in Minnesota that would define marriage in the state constitution as between one man and one woman; a voter referendum in Maine that would allow same-sex couples to receive a marriage license; a referendum in Washington to approve or reject a former bill that would legalize same-sex marriage in the state; and a referendum in Maryland to approve or reject the Civil Marriage Protection Act, passed in 2012 by the state, that would allow same-sex couples to obtain a civil marriage license.
The event will start at 6 p.m. and end when the final results are in. You can find The Abbey at 692 North Robertson Blvd., where it meets with Santa Monica Blvd.
