The space was taken over by Alfredo Diaz, who opened the Los Angeles Eat Well, the Kokomo Cafe on Beverly Boulevard and K2 on Sunset Boulevard, and Chris Miller, vice president of production at Flower Films, which is owned by Drew Barrymore and Nancy Juvonen. Miller’s Drew Barrymore connection has sparked constant rumors that the actress is buying Revolver, which Miller has denied. He and Diaz returned Revolver to its video bar roots, with substantial remodeling and the addition of 20 video screens. The back room was transformed into a billiards and darts room, morphing to an extension of the bar on busy nights. Revolver trumpets its video bar focus with events like Flashback Saturdays. Other signature nights include Monday Night Trannyoake, Tuesday’s Beretta, Tom Whitman’s Thursday Night Secret Service and Friday’s Big Guns.
“Chris and I had talked for years about our shared fondness of Revolver and wanting to bring back our version of the popular bar some day,” Diaz said.
“When we found out that the lease on the space was available, we jumped at the chance to take it over. Revolver was such an iconic bar, and we’re excited to bring an updated version back. We aren’t exactly reinventing the video bar concept but Revolver does stand apart from other video bars with its original video mash up content created by VJ’s we’ve discovered from around the world and found nowhere else,” said Miller.
