Shoops Deli Brings European Flavor to WeHo

A town like ours, awash in tacos and phat thai and Kung Pao chicken, now is home to a celebrated purveyor of German and Scandinavian food. Shoop’s European Deli opened Saturday (Jan 5) at 1107 N. Hayworth Ave. just north of Santa Monica Boulevard. Shoop’s, in business in Santa Monica for more than 10 years, offers a selection of European meats, cheeses and other imported food, with a focus on the Netherlands, Germany and Scandinavia. It boasts the largest selection of European chocolate, licorice, and candy on the Westside. In addition to its deli foods, Shoops serves breakfast and lunch inside and on an adjacent patio. Specialty dishes include the shrimp sandwich, a cold smoked salmon and a dish of weisswurst and kraut. Schoops is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays and Mondays. The full menu is online.
