The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) has begun ticket sales for its annual Academy Awards viewing party, one of the motion picture industry’s leading events, which will be held Feb. 24 in West Hollywood Park.
The viewing party, the foundation’s 21st, will be hosted by John and his partner, David Furnish. Major corporate sponsors are Chopard, Neuro Drinks and Wells Fargo. Others are Audi, Grey Goose, and MAC Viva Glam. Cocktails will be served at 4 p.m. and dinner at 5 p.m. Guests then will watch a live telecast of the 85th Academy Awards ceremony. Jamie Niven of Sotheby’s will conduct live auction and DJ Johnny Dynell will spin tunes for guests to dance by.
EJAF has raised nearly $34 million with its Oscar parties over the years. Money raised helps the foundation provide direct treatment, care, and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS in marginalized communities; provide injection drug users with clean needles to prevent HIV infection and transmission and provide sexual health education for young people.
