Election 2013 West Hollywood

A group of West Hollywood neighborhood associations will sponsor a debate on Feb. 6 for candidates for the March 5 election to City Council

The debate will take place at 7 p.m. at the West Hollywood auditorium in the public library at 647 N. San Vicente Blvd., south of Santa Monica.

Sponsors include Tri-West, WEHONA, West Hollywood Heights, West Hollywood North Neighborhood Association and the West Hollywood West Residents Association. There is no admission price, and the debate will be shown live on the WeHo TV cable channel or WeHo.org/wehotv.

The nine candidates, including incumbents John Duran and Jeffrey Prang, likely also will be invited to participate in a second debate under consideration by the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee.

Residents of various neighborhood groups, including east side and center city, have been contacted. Let’s give Lynn Hoopingarner of WHNNA, etc., some credit. If she didn’t actively pursue, there would be no forum.

Are there any neighborhood associations on the eastside that can stand up and represent us?
