Most people would pay big money not to have nightmares (after all, isn’t that at least part of what keeps shrinks in business?) But Rodeo Realty is hoping someone will shell out $2.1 million for the house at 1428 Genessee Ave., south of Sunset, that was the home of Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) in 1984’s “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” The Hollywood Reporter says the Freddy Krueger house is now on the market. The three-bedroom home, with 3.25 baths, was built in 1919. The interior was renovated in 2006. It includes a swimming pool and a one-bedroom, one-bath guest house. The buyer is going to have to negotiate with the seller to re-install the security bars that Nancy’s mom (Ronee Blakley) put over the doors and windows. But those who remember the movie will note that they didn’t work very well. Those who remember the movie also will remember that Nancy’s boyfriend Glen (Johnny Depp) spent the night, which just might cause a bidding war.
