The West Hollywood Municipal Employees represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 3339 announced that it is endorsing Mayor Jeff Prang and Councilmember John Duran for re-election to the city council on Tuesday.

“Following a process in which we questioned all of the candidates, our union was convinced that both Mr. Prang and Mr. Duran have a vision for the city that is in the best interests of all residents and reflects the progressive values and good governance that define this community,” said Janet Jimenez, President of the Union.

In addition, the Union announced its opposition to Measure C, a ballot initiative that would impose term limits on city council representatives.

“Voters should be able to cast their ballots for the candidate whom they believe is most qualified,” Jimenez said.

AFSCME Local 3339, the largest West Hollywood municipal employee union, represents a diverse group of employees, including legal services providers, building inspectors, street maintenance workers, rent stabilization counselors, planners and others.
