WeHo Chamber PAC Endorses Duran, Prang

West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce LogoThe West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee has endorsed incumbent Mayor Jeffrey Prang and Councilmember John Duran in the 2013 race for two seats on the city council.

The endorsement was announced today by Genevieve Morrill, president of the Chamber. “We proudly acknowledge their continued leadership for our community and their consistent support for balanced, smart growth to foster job creation and preservation of West Hollywood’s vibrant community character,” Morrill said in an announcement to Chamber members.

Members of the Chambers’ political action committee are attorney Kate Bartolo; Hany Haddad, vice president, U.S. Bank, and Chamber chairperson; Keith Kaplan of the Kaplan Group, who is executive director of the Fur Information Council of America; Owen Ward of Off World Entertainment, and Misti Cooper, owner of Yogurt Stop,

Morrill said the Chamber will host an event for both candidates on Feb. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Christopher Guy showroom at 8900 Beverly Blvd. near North Swall Drive.

OK, SO LET’S BREAK THIS DOWN: Kate Bartolo….her office is on figueroa downtown LA Hany Haddad….a bank district manager for LA area Keith Kaplan…..a PO box on SMB for the fur council (only set up due to fur issue last year) Owen Ward of Off World Entertainment…..works from a condo in LA, 90048 Misti Cooper…. owner of Yogurt Stop….speaks for itself ……so THESE people are endorsing candidates in WEST HOLLYWOOD?????….REALLY???….SHAMEFUL!!!!….wake up weho, the attack dogs are out and they don’t want you to use your OWN brain and make your OWN decisions….and by the way, Genevieve Morrill lives in los… Read more »

Well, this is more than a little disappointing. The Chamber, the entity we think of as representing our local businesses (that residents support every day), has thrown in with big developers who have no interest whatever in our City other than how it can improve the bottom line of their balance sheets. And, it’s not as if our local businesses don’t suffer at the hands of our out-of-touch and arrogant City Hall everyday.
