Many of Hollywood’s most glamorous and exclusive Oscars parties are held in our little city each year.
The Vanity Fair Party, held at Sunset Tower, is the most prestigious party event of the year for Hollywood. And Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Benefit, at West Hollywood Park, is another highly anticipated event.
While most events are invitation-only, we’ve noted a few you can attend if you’re willing to reach deep (and we do mean deep) into your pockets.
Otherwise, consider this a reference point: What is all that raucous noise about over at Everleigh, Cecconi’s, Soho House and Chateau Marmont?

8 p.m.-1 a.m.: Artists for Peace and Justice “Hollywood Dominos” Oscar event
A celebrity insider event, where players use an altered version of dominos to raise money for a number of non-profit organizations around the world, including the victims of hurricanes in Haiti.

Octavia Spencer (who won the Academy Award for her role in “The Help” in 2011) and WIF President Cathy Schulman will host the sixth annual Women in Film pre-Oscar cocktail party at Fig & Olive on Melrose. Last year’s event drew “Best Actress” nominee Jessica Chastain (“Zero Dark Thirty”), Viola Davis and Gwyneth Paltrow. This year’s expected guests include “Best Supporting Actress” nominee Jacki Weaver (“Silver Linings Playbook”), producer nominees Megan Ellison (“Zero Dark Thirty”) and Stacey Sher (“Django Unchained”) and costume designer nominee Colleen Atwood (“Snow White and the Huntsman”).

This year’s movies from The Weinstein Co. include “Django Unchained,” “The Master,” “Silver Linings Playbook” and “The Intouchables.” In 2012, the company received 16 Oscar nominations.
Tickets are very tough to get. A current bid for a ticket (and tour with a publicist) is at $17,000.

Party promoter Tom Whitman presents this viewing party benefiting APLA. The event advertises “No tuxes. Lots of cocktails. Gays everywhere.” A hosted bar and food carts will be available from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The SIZE After Party starts at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are available for $50, as are VIP cabanas. The 12th edition of this party will be hosted by Pauley Perrette from “N.C.I.S.,” and Becca Tobin from “Glee.” A VIP cocktail reception will be held at 4 p.m. before a dinner for the Oscar viewing party at 5 p.m. Black tie attire is preferred. Tickets range from $500 to $25,000.

Elton John and David Furnish will host their popular event at West Hollywood Park. At the end of the viewing party, Jamie Niven of Sotheby’s will conduct a live auction, and DJ Johnny Dynell will provide the tunes. Soulful Scottish singer Emeli Sande will perform. The dinner menu will be by Gordon Ramsay.

Probably the best known and most glamorous of the post-Oscar parties, the Vanity Fair afterparty draws the most elite stars and has made for some indelible moments as they collide. Ellen DeGeneres and Anne Heche fell for each other in 1997 at the party. Ronald Perelman met his future, now former, wife Ellen Barkin. Mel Gibson arrived with two Oscars for “Braveheart” in 1996, and a bagpiper in tow. And Tom Cruise pulled up to the party on a Ducati motorcycle in 2005.
This might be the hottest (and toughest) invite in town.

Openly advertised to the public, this after-party promises to let you mingle with a mix of actors, producers, directors, paparazzi and journalists. The event benefits St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Donation tickets range from $350 to $2,000. Click here for details.
