West Hollywood’s Long Range & Mobility Planning Division will host its final Avenues Working Group meeting and community presentation on April 3. The Avenues Working Group community presentation will highlight revisions to the draft plan incorporated in response to community feedback, including a street-side Community Open House held last October. The Avenues Streetscape Master Plan is a plan designed to improve the overall aesthetics and mobility of the commercial district known as The Avenues, which includes the West Hollywood segments of Beverly Boulevard, Robertson Boulevard, and Melrose Avenue. The project will go before the City Council for consideration this spring.
The meeting, which will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m., will be held in the West Hollywood Library Community Room, 625 N. San Vicente Blvd, south of Santa Monica Boulevard. Parking is available at the West Hollywood Park parking garage. From the parking structure, there is a third-floor pedestrian bridge to West Hollywood Park with access to the Community Room entrance.

The Community Open House provided interesting possibilities and a chance for broad input. Hopefully with the advancement of new development the Streetscape Plan does not inadvertently lose sight of the uniqueness of the original architectural presence and context. Many elements can be included to link both eras in a significant and/or subtle manner.
