Beverly Hills police detained a burglary suspect today, but a second eluded arrest.

Police were called to the 1100 block of Calle Vista Drive at 5:10 p.m. when a resident saw two men on a neighbor’s property carrying duffel bags, said Sgt. Renato Moreno of the Beverly Hills Police Department.

Beverly Hills police set up a containment, with the aid of law enforcement from Santa Monica, UCLA and West Hollywood. Police told residents to stay indoors, Moreno said.

The suspect who eluded arrest was described as a thin man wearing dark clothing and a hat that covers his ears.

Anyone with information on the burglary was asked to call (310) 550-4951.
