The City Council “reorganization meeting” will officially name Abbe Land as the next mayor and John D’Amico as mayor pro tempore. Following the ceremony, there will be a special reception with performances from singer Catte Adams and LA electronica band Beautiful People. The ceremony and meeting will be held at the council chambers (625 N. San Vicente at Melrose).

This seems like an awful lot of hoopla for a position that has nothing to do with the citizens. WeHo does NOT elect a mayor or a mayor pro tem. The 5 council members decide amongst themselves whose turn it is to wear the crown and run the meetings. It’s absurd. Maybe it’s for the free food. Or is it free? Macbeth may have had it right: “It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”
