Atwater Crossing
“Cooking Oil,” a play by Ugandan playwright Deborah Asimwe, plays for a limited run at the Atwater Crossing, 3191 Casitas Ave. and Fletcher in Atwater Village. The play is centered around an African village, where a young girl, who sold foreign aid supplies that were supposed to be free, is found murdered. The story critiques the foreign aid industry and development problems in the “third world.” A discussion will follow the play. Tickets, $20, and more information available online.
