Bachelorette Desiree Hartstock

The Andaz Hotel on the Sunset Strip was recently the site of one of Desiree Hartsock’s one-on-one dates for this season’s “The Bachelorette,” the reality TV show where one woman chooses her future boyfriend from 25 men.

That episode, we’re told, featured Bandaloop aerial performers, along with “Des” and her date, dancing on the facade of the 14-story hotel. That’s right, dancing on the facade. But that’s nothing new for the Bandaloop performers, who have taken Cirque-du-Soleil-ish acts to, ahem, new heights. Check them out here.

In its past, the Andaz, formerly the Continental Hyatt House among other names, was more famous for the TV sets that fell down along its facade.

In the late 1960s and 1970s the hotel proximity to popular clubs such as the Whisky a Go Go made it the preferred accommodation for touring rock groups. Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards and The Who’s Keith Moon (allegedly) dropped TVs out of hotel windows.

If you’re looking to catch the “Bachelorette” episode shot at the Andaz, it airs this coming Monday, June 10 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
