Don Thompson LGBT Film Festival

Tickets for Outfest, one of the country’s biggest LGBT cinematic events, are on sale now. More than 130 films will be shown during the festival, which will take place July 11-21.

You can purchase tickets online or at the Outfest box office at Directors Guild of America, 7920 Sunset Blvd. at Hayworth. That office will be closed on Thursday (Independence Day) and Sunday, but you can get tix those days at the Beverly Center box office in Bloomingdale’s, 8500 Beverly Blvd. at La Cienega.

If you go to Beverly Center box office on Thursday, you can save $10 on tickets to the opening night gala.

Outfest films will be shown at various locations, including two WeHo area venues: the DGA and Sundance Sunset Cinema, 8000 W. Sunset Blvd. at Crescent Heights. The selection of films runs the gamut from high-brow documentaries to steamy love stories. You can learn about the life of Gore Vidal, watch young Southern Baptists struggle with their sexualities, and see a “reimagining” of the 40 minutes of “Cruising” that wound up on the cutting room floor.
