After 17 years, Lola’s, the WeHo restaurant credited with creating the apple martini, will close its doors on Sept. 8.

Lola’s owner Loren Dunsworth (Lola) claims the restaurant had one of LA’s first extensive martini menus and that she mixed the first apple martini with staff members from a bottle of Apple Pucker and bottle of Ketel One in 1996.

According to Eater LA, Phil Howard and Dean McKillen, the duo behind Laurel Hardware, are set to revise the space.

Lola’s is located at 945 N. Fairfax Ave. at Romaine.
