State Social House, the new Sunset Strip gastropub/lounge replacing the Red Rock and Isla Cantina, is set to open Wednesday for dinner service before fully opening Sept. 2.
The new restaurant and nightlife venue, at 8782 Sunset Blvd. at Holloway, will be open from 5:30 p.m. until 2 a.m. through Sunday before its regular hours, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., begin Monday.
The venue features four bars with 20 beers on tap, wine, beer cocktails and specialty drinks.
Dining will take place on level one, with a piano bar upstairs. Next door, The Backroom (formerly the Isla Cantina space) is a smoker’s lounge that will sell a variety of cigars.
The State Social House American pub menu, created by Executive Chef Vernon Cárdenas, former executive chef of Pink Taco and corporate executive chef of IDG’s Boa, Katana and Sushi Roku, includes spaghetti pepperoncino, seared tuna steak, grilled half chicken, Asian barbecue skirt steak, vegetable stir-fry, gilled wild salmon, Pacific bass and prime ribeye steak as main dishes.
