Larry Block has embraced the label “rabble rouser” and says he has found new meaning in his life in activities such as castigating the City Council for failing to raise a rainbow flag over City Hall and not embracing campaign finance reform. Block has announced his intention to run for a council seat in 2015. Those less civically engaged may know him best for the $9.99 underwear table at The Block Party, his clothing store for gay men in Boystown.

Be careful what you wish for, because this title may be something to be reviled and not revered. Like many, I first read this article without paying attention to the “caveat” for better or worse and I allowed my emotions to prevail over the pragmatism to which I aspire and for or this and my subsequent “knee jerk reaction”, I owe Hank Scott an apology.
