West Hollywood is soliciting applications from people interested in joining a group to create a plan to address concerns of residents and businesses on the city’s East Side.
The Eastside Community Plan Working Group will consist of 15 people — residents, community leaders, young professionals, families, seniors, Russian community members, business owners, and a residential landlord. An applicant may represent more than one category.
Those interested in applying should contact Bianca Siegl at the City of West Hollywood at (323) 848-6853 in order to submit an application by Jan. 21.
In September, the city’s Eastside Task Force, which is developing a so-called “community plan” for the area, outlined four areas for the group to focus on: 1) land use, 2) economic development (and possible formation of a Business Improvement District), 3) civic engagement and 4) public events. Depending on the needs identified by the Working Group, the community plan may also address issues such as housing, transportation and mobility and community services.
