Promoters Luke Nero and Andres Rigal yesterday said “do svidaniya” (“good bye” for those who don’t read Russian) to “Rasputin,” the Saturday night event at Club Robertson that has attracted the likes of Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera and Cher (and the gay men who love them).
Rasputin has been a Saturday nightlife hit for the past year at Robertson, the club at 665 N. Robertson Blvd. south of Santa Monica. There’s always been a line at the door, making the closing a bit of a surprise to some of Rasputin’s followers. Nero and Rigal declined to comment on their decision, which was announced yesterday in a Facebook post.
Nero and Rigal last week announced another move, telling WEHOville.com that they were moving “Evita,” a popular Tuesday night event at Blok in Hollywood, to “dba”, the “curated” nightclub opened recently at 7969 Santa Monica Blvd. near Hayworth by Cardiff Giant. “Evita” opens in that location at 9:30 p.m. tomorrow, with the event hosted by the Boulet Brothers.
