West Hollywood logoWest Hollywood’s Social Services Division will host a series of “WeHo Cares Community Pop-Ups” throughout 2014 to provide residents with information about social services, transit options and other city services, programs and volunteer opportunities.

The first “pop-up” of the year will take place Jan. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at West Hollywood Gateway (where Target and Best Buy are located), at 7100 Santa Monica Blvd. at La Brea.

The pop-ups will be conducted at highly trafficked locations throughout the city. The City’s partner social services organizations will participate in the events. At this month’s pop-up, staff members from the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s Youth Center on Highland will be on hand to share information about the Youth Center, which provides a safe, welcoming place for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) young people without a home or support. Also this month, the city will accept clothing at the Gateway pop-up that the Youth Center will donate to LGBT young people in need. (Clothing donations are also being accepted at West Hollywood City Hall through Jan. 31.)

Additional information about the pop-up program is available by calling (323) 848-6510, sending an email message to wehocares@weho.org or going to www.weho.org/wehocares or the WeHo Cares Facebook page.
