[dropcap]Q. [/dropcap]What can I do to prepare for a possible earthquake?
[dropcap]A. [/dropcap]The City of West Hollywood has an earthquake preparedness manual available online. Also, the Southern California Earthquake Center offers a seven-step guide to preparing for a quake. The steps it suggests are as follows:
To Prepare
Step 1: Identify hazards and secure moveable items
Step 2: Create a disaster plan and decide how you will communicate in an emergency.
Step 3: Organize disaster supplies in convenient locations.
Step 4: Minimize financial hardship by organizing important documents, strengthening your property, and considering insurance.
To Survive and Recover
Step 5: Drop to your hands and knees to prevent falling, cover your head and neck and hold on when the earth shakes.
Step 6: Leave your building if necessary, helping the injured around you, to prevent further injuries or damage from a crumbling wall.
Step 7: Get back to daily life as soon as you can by reconnecting with others, repairing damage, and rebuilding community.
Would never ever wish that, roger. You are not thinking of the innocent victims of such a disaster.
I hope it’s a 10.0
Sodom and Gommorah had it good compared to what Hollywood deserves.
