On Valentine’s Day It’s Time for Singles to Turn Sad into Glad

It’s Valentine’s Day! You’d better have already booked a reservation in a romantic (and expensive) restaurant, bought a bouquet of flowers and left a love note under the pillow. And if you’re gay, at least for the day you should have taken your profile down from Grindr and Scruff and made sure you and the bf aren’t going to be dining at a restaurant where you’ve slept with one of the waiters.

Remember not to text at dinner, and prepare ahead so you’ll actually have something to talk about. When you get home and crawl into bed, focus on the romantic foreplay instead of just doing it. After all, it’s Valentine’s Day!

Another option, promoted by the folks behind Singles Awareness Day in a hilarious video, is to just kiss that boyfriend or girlfriend goodbye (breaking up with husbands and wives is more complicated). No more arguing over which movie to see, why he or she doesn’t like your best friend and whether your back or other delicate areas need to be waxed. No more fretting about whether you dare take this boy or girl home to meet Mom or groaning when he or she can’t stop talking about the Kardashians. But don’t take our word for the glorious advantages of single life. Take a look at this video, written by LA’s Genevieve Lee of CherryBombComedy.
