When it comes to celebrities and West Hollywood, reality is quickly clouded by gossip in this digital age.
The latest example is a TMZ.com story whose headline strongly implies that Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies escorted Kim Kardashian and her friend Ciara on a shopping trip yesterday to Bel Bambini, the ritzy baby store at 464 N Robertson Blvd. near Rangely. According to a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department, a couple of deputies did indeed accompany the Kardashians. But upset West Hollywood residents who have contacted WEHOville can relax knowing that our taxes didn’t pay for the shopping trip. The company that produces the Kardashian’s reality TV show signed what is known as a “private entity contract” to pay for the police services. West Hollywood contracts with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to provide law enforcement service.
However, the stir caused by the paparazzi outside Bel Bambini led to complaints from nearby merchants to the West Hollywood branch of the Sheriff’s Department, which had to send additional deputies to deal with the congestion caused by the Kardashians and their camera-wielding followers.
TMZ’s report that former “Jackass” prankster Steve-O and two friends staged a fake collapse at a West Hollywood coffee bar on Tuesday also is not entirely true. Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, staged that stunt at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at 7915 Sunset Blvd. near North Fairfax, a block north of West Hollywood. Worried patrons called 911 and the Los Angeles Fire Department, which is upset that the stunt diverted resources that might have been needed for a real emergency.
And finally, as WEHOville reported Tuesday, Justin Bieber was not beaten up at a West Hollywood coffee shop by LA Clippers star Blake Griffin as was report by EmpireSports.com. Bieber was in Atlanta when the alleged incident occurred, but that didn’t stop the baristas at the Big Gay Starbucks at Santa Monica Boulevard and Westmount from being annoyed by calls from the curious. The story didn’t surprise Bieber followers, who have launched a petition drive to have the Canadian singer deported.
Inspired by that petition, WEHOville.com is happy to announce that today we have launched a similar drive to deport the Kardashians in an effort to slow the dumbing down of West Hollywood. Supporters can sign the petition online.
So whose fault is it that all the … wannabes chase these no talent “celebrities”.
You chase them and then complain that “they” are are the problem.
