Several organizations offer free or low-cost health care services to gay men in Los Angeles County. AIDS Healthcare Foundation operates the largest number of clinics and service centers, which are focused on HIV and sexually transmitted diseases. It and several other organizations also offer dental services. Those who focus, at least in part, on gay men are listed below. While most offer “walk-in” treatment, it’s always wise to call ahead to make sure operating hours haven’t change. Usually, you can get seen more quickly if you make an appointment. If you have health insurance, you might want to contact the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, which maintains a database of “gay-friendly” medical providers. Call the Center at (323) 993-7500 or send an e-mail to healthservices@lagaycenter.org with a request for a referral.
