The latest piece of public art to be installed in West Hollywood is Anna Sew Hoy‘s “Look, See” a piece of sculpture that will be placed in Kings Road Park, 1000 Kings Rd. near Romaine.
Hoy is a Los Angeles-based artist who was born in Auckland, New Zealand. Her work has been shown in numerous galleries and museums, including the Hammer Museum at UCLA, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art . “Look, See” was commissioned by LAXArts.
The city’s Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission will hold a reception for Hoy from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at Kings Road Park. The reception is free and open to the public.
The “Look, See” installation is part of the city’s Art on the Outside Program, which brings art out into the public realm with the goal of enhancing the city’s pedestrian-friendly culture. This sculpture is expected to remain at its location for approximately a year.
