West Hollywood will host a Twitter-based “#Wehochat” discussion Thursday to focus to engage people to participate in emergency preparedness. The #Wehochat will take place at noon. It is expected to last for approximately one hour.
The #Wehochat is part of the city’s effort to be prepared for emergencies. Representatives from City Hall will join experts from neighboring cities such as Beverly Hills, Culver City and Santa Monica, as well as representatives from emergency and law enforcement agencies to discuss emergency communications, procedures and public-education efforts. An archive of the chat will be made available on the city’s website as an additional resource for people who cannot participate in the live chat.
To participate in the #Wehochat visit www.weho.org/wehochat or www.twubs.com/wehochat on Thursday at noon – or follow hashtag #Wehochat through Twitter or other applications, such as Hootsuite or Tweetdeck. Information about future chats and archives of all #Wehochat discussions can be found at www.weho.org/wehochat.
The city’s Public Information Office will host additional #Wehochat discussions throughout 2014 covering other topics that may interest city residents, businesses and community members.
