You should be able to get onto WEHOville.com more quickly, and not suffer through those annoying delays when you’re watching Netflix online, thanks to improvements in Time Warner Cable’s web service in West Hollywood.
The cable service has announced that network upgrades allow it to now deliver Internet speeds of up to 300 Megabits per second (Mbps) to customers with residential Internet plans in Costa Mesa and West Hollywood.
TWC customers in both cities with a standard internet plan of up to 15 Mbps have now been moved, at no extra charge, into the new “extreme plan” with speeds of up to 50 Mbps. Customers who subscribe to the “Ultimate” 100 Mbps plan will now see speeds, at no extra charge, up to 300 Mbps. TWC subscribers will need a DOCSIS 3.0 modem to enjoy the full benefits of the speed increases, and will be contacted by Time Warner Cable about their choices for receiving a new device.
Coming from Uverse to TW has been a big upgrade. Cable isn’t always great, I get the problems @riley where its pixelating and doing ??? However the speed now is very nice. Would rather have high speed internet than television but doesn’t seem to work out that way. Meaning if the prices go higher, I’d apt for hulu, netflix, etc and just go without the tv. Netflix is great imo, and amazon prime for a trial.
Usually people complain about TW and me included but the high speed is unreal if you are downloading or even sending a huge file!
Netflix Speeds would still be compromised if it won’t for a deal Comcast and Netflix came to where Netflix pays extra money to have their flow become a priority and extra servers were put in to handle the load. It was just Comcast trying to angle for more money, and when the demand was high for Netflix, Comcast simply didn’t put more servers on the job. Hence creating a bottleneck. @Riley I couldn’t agree more. I’ve had trouble with the HD (and some non-HD) channels tiling, stuttering, pixelating, frozen screens, etc. I’ve rebooted the boxes to no avail. I even got one new box, but the problem is the signal, not the boxes. I’d love for there to be a real alternative to TWC. AT&T U-Verse is not available to my home even though it is two doors away. Now if they can just do something to stop my HDTV from pixelating all the time I won’t have to change to Direct TV!
