If you want to whet your appetite for Major League Baseball World Series, which isn’t until October, consider the 3rd Annual Drag Queen World Series on Saturday.
Yes, the uniforms will be different. And the balls will be soft rather than hard. But there’s likely to be every bit as much butt slapping and hugging at the Drag Queen World Series as you’ll see at MLB’s version on Fox TV.
The Los Angeles Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will head back to the softball field to defend their title against The West Hollywood Cheerleaders at the Glendale Sports Complex. Justin Lanning will sing the national anthem. Actor and comedian Del Shores and his daughter Becca will be the game’s announcers
All money raised at the event will go to The Life Group LA, a coalition of people dedicated to the education, empowerment and emotional support of people both infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Throughout the day, music will be spun by DJ Eur-O-Steve. This years’ food truck time is being made available by Babys Badass Burgers. Prizes will be offered in a raffle wbose grand prize is a weekend away for up to 16 people at the Harpo Marx estate in Rancho Mirage, valued at $8,000.
