Gay Fathers Day Celebrated at The Abbey and WeHo Park

gay fathers dayGay Fathers Day will be celebrated at The Abbey on Sunday with a brunch buffet hosted by RaiseAChild.US followed by a concert in West Hollywood Park.

The child-friendly concert, featuring the band La Sirena y Mar de Ashe, is part of an event for families and prospective parents at which information will be provided for prospective parents.

RaiseAChild.US is a nonprofit organization that encourages the LGBT community to build families through fostering and adoption to serve the 400,000 children in the U.S. foster care system. Among the services offered by RaiseAChild.US is its parent advocate program, which provides information and support via phone or email to prospective parents as they move through the process from orientation and training to matching and placement.

Other sponsors of the Gay Fathers Day event include the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services, the LGBT Center of Los Angeles, the City of West Hollywood, the Southern California Foster Family and Adoption Agency and Penny Lane Centers.

“We welcome all families and prospective parents to join our free festivities at West Hollywood Park,” said Rich Valenza, founder and CEO of RaiseAChild.US. The park is located on San Vicente Boulevard, south of Santa Monica Boulevard. The brunch at The Abbey, 692 N. Robertson Blvd. south of Santa Monica, is $19 for adults and $7 for kids.
