The City of West Hollywood is launching a youth triathlon program for athletes ages 9 to 18. Registration runs through Wednesday.

The eight-week program starts on June 30 and runs through August 20. Trainings will be on Mondays and Wednesdays at West Hollywood Park and West Hollywood Pool. The cost for the program is $150. Registration can be done at West Hollywood Pool, 647 N. San Vicente at El Tovar, anytime during pool hours through Wednesday.

Participation in the program includes membership in the new Pacific Triathlon (PacTri) League, for which the city says it is establishing partnerships with other small cities in Los Angeles County.

“Once established, the Pacific Triathlon League will give participants the opportunity to take part in a range of benefits, including: a UCLA athlete-mentor program; discounts to triathlon events, stores, and coaching sessions; training and nutrition consultation; participation in PacTri bike rides and ocean swims; and more,” the city said in a press release.
