Visit West Hollywood, the city’s marketing and visitor’s bureau, is launching a program designed to make WeHo businesses and their employees into ambassadors.

"I Am West Hollywood" certificate of recognition. The “I Am West Hollywood” program is “an interactive program that encourages and empowers West Hollywood businesses and their employees to become better informed about the city and all it has to offer,” according to a Visit West Hollywood news release. Participants in the 2.5-hour program will take part in guided driving tour as well as a classroom session. Led by a trained “I Am West Hollywood” leader, that session will cover: West Hollywood’s brand; local insights; tips on providing excellent guest service; and LGBT diversity training. Participants will learn facts, figures and “did you know” anecdotes about WeHo that they can share with visitors to the city.

“Whether it’s a taxi driver, a bellman at a hotel or a restaurant server, guests always ask these front line workers for the inside scoop about the destination,” Bill Hynes, executive vice president of Visit West Hollywood, said in a news release. “The ‘I Am West Hollywood’ program will provide hospitality staff with the tools to deliver an exceptional experience.”

Maybe the participating businesses can provide feedback to the city regarding the impact of raising the minimum wage and how many jobs will be lost.
