The life of gay soccer player and West Hollywood resident Robbie Rogers has inspired an ABC comedy.
“Men In Shorts centers on a young pro soccer player who takes one small step out of the closet and one giant leap into the spotlight,” Deadline reports.
Los Angeles Galaxy player Rogers famously came out last year, and he subsequently moved to West Hollywood.
Since moving here, Rogers has joined revelers at L.A. Pride, his first ever Pride event. He also attended the WeHo rally celebrating the Supreme Court rulings on Prop 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). That, he previously told WEHOville.com, was “a day I’ll never forget.”
