The West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s political action committee (PAC) has announced its endorsements for the Nov. 4 general election.
For state positions, the PAC endorsed incumbent state Rep. Richard Bloom for re-election to the 50th District Assembly seat. Bloom, a Democrat, is running against Brad Torgan, a Republican resident of West Hollywood who serves on the city’s Historic Preservation Commission. For the District 26 state Senate seat the PAC endorsed Ben Allen, a lawyer and a member of the board of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, who is running against Sandra Fluke, a lawyer and activist who lives in West Hollywood. Both are Democrats.
For county positions, the PAC endorsed Sheila Kuehl for the 3rd District seat on the L.A. County Board of Supervisors. Kuehl, a former state senator, is facing former Santa Monica Mayor Bobby Shriver in that contest. Both are Democrats. The PAC endorsed West Hollywood City Councilmember Jeffrey Prang for county Assessor. Prang, a Democrat, is running against L.A. County Deputy District Attorney John Morris, a Republican.
When the “Business Knows Best” Chamber of Commerce gives their endorsements, many times it’s a good idea to do the opposite of their recommendations in order to serve the Public Interest! 🙂
