A man had his ankle broken early Tuesday morning in a brawl outside DBA nightclub at 7969 Santa Monica Blvd. near Hayworth. A videotape of the brawl was posted on TMZ.com. It’s the second major fight outside the club in less than a month.
On Oct. 19, another fight outside DBA attracted a crowd of onlookers along with a police helicopter. Residents of the neighborhood behind the club complained that they were awakened around 2:30 a.m. by the sound of a deputy with a bullhorn inside the helicopter demanding that the crowd disperse.
A man was arrested in the Oct. 19 incident and charged with battery. No one was arrested in the Tuesday morning incident according to the watch commander at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.
DBA, which is owned by Cardiff Giant, opened almost a year ago in the space previously occupied by Voyeur, a strip club that became infamous as the place where the Republican Party racked up a mega-bill on supporters dollars in 2010. As 7969 and Peanuts before that, the club played host to some of Los Angeles’ most daring dance clubs.
…Ok…scratch that, i just watched the video. Nasty. But I still stand behind the comment that it happened outside and not inside. 🙂
I’m not going to be a mindless clone and comment against anything ‘republican’ as if our democratic party doesn’t do the same things… but I will say that the responsibility for the fight may not be linked to the DBA at all but the location. (The fight DID occur outside the club.) Shady homeless people congregate near the laundromat nearby all the time. There has been more than one friend who has gotten approached by someone aggressive near there at night. I’m not surprised that something happened.
wow, wehoville staff, you really zinged those republicans for their mega-bill party. that strip club’s reputation has been so tarnished that we talk about that bash, all the time.
you keep’m honest, ok !
