Impulse Group Stages Reception Tonight for Art Focused on Gay Health

Impulse Group is hosting a reception tonight at La Vida Restaurant and Lounge for artists participating in its “Why Not? Stay Negative” exhibit.

Impulse Group art exhibitAdmission to the event, which runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m., is free, but guests are asked to RSVP online beforehand. La Vida is located at 1448 N. Gower St. in Los Angeles. There will be free hors d’oeuvres and drinks.

The event will feature the work of artists on the subject of staying HIV negative. Those works will span various mediums including photography, fashion, dance, sculpture, interactive, audio and paint.

Guests at the event can vote for their favorite artist’s work, and three winners will be selected. Prizes are $1,500 for the first place winner, $1,000 for the second and $500 for the third.

Impulse Group is an international organization that launched in Los Angeles with the goal of promoting healthier sexual lifestyles among gay men. With support from the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, this group of volunteers works to create campaigns, events and online content to reach a new generation of gay men who live in a modern and rapidly evolving world.
