BoomWest Hollywood is hosting its second annual alcohol- and drug-free New Year’s Eve event this year.

The BOOM! event, themed “A Mid Winter’s Night Fantasy,” will take place on Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the West Hollywood Park Auditorium, located at 647 N. San Vicente Blvd. south of Santa Monica. Approximately 500 people are expected to attend. Attendees must be 18 or over to enter.

Renowned DJ Walter Delmar will pump up the volume to get people moving on the dance floor. A variety of entertainment activities are planned including live performers, an expanded lounge area, more dance space, catered food, a dessert bar, a real-time photo booth and free t-shirts. Things will heat up with a drag show as Miss #BOOM! 2015 is crowned a winner. At midnight, there will be a toast to ring in the New Year.

Admission is free and limited validated parking will be available for early arrivals in the West Hollywood Park five-story parking structure. The city will also offer a free New Year’s Eve shuttle service on Santa Monica Boulevard between Robertson Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. — shuttles will operate approximately every 15 minutes. The route will be identical to the route for the City’s popular free weekend shuttle, The PickUp. The event venue is a short walk from stops at Robertson Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard. Shuttle stops connect to the following Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) bus lines: 105, 705, 4, 704, 217 and 218.

#BOOM! is sponsored by the City of West Hollywood, the Institute for Public Strategies, the Los Angeles LGBT Center and the Tweakers Project. To RSVP visit www.lalgbtcenter.org/boom or call (323) 212-5352. As attendance is first-come, first-served, an RSVP does not guarantee admission once maximum capacity has been reached. It’s a good thing for recovering addicts. This gives them something to do without other temptations. But a “renowned” DJ?

Might as well stay home. Drinking coffee all night doesn’t sound like fun but whatever?
