West Hollywood’s Planning Commission will consider tonight whether to recommend approval of plans for a 50-unit residential building proposed for 702 N. Doheny Dr.
The building is a project of Jason Illoulian’s Faring Capital. Faring has to submit its plans to the city for approval because it is asking that the city’s General Plan be amended and that the zoning of four lots fronting Doheny be changed from medium density residential to high density residential.
The building’s 1.2-acre site is largely empty, with two vacant houses on its northeastern corner at 9040 and 9044 W. Keith Ave. The site is perhaps best known as the location of Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch at Halloween and the Mr. Greentrees Christmas tree lot.
The new building would include 38 condominium units and 12 units that would be rented to low-income people. The developer also proposes building a 100-space parking garage underneath the building. The architect for the project is R&A Design.
The Planning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the West Hollywood City Council chamber, 625 N. San Vicente Blvd. south of Santa Monica.
