WeHo Woman Charged in Fountain Avenue Knife Attack

Screen Shot 2015-01-22 at 7.19.16 PMA woman arrested on Thursday for stabbing another woman on Fountain Avenue near Sweetzer has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Detective Sgt. Richard Bowman of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station identified the alleged attacker as Julie Le, 22, and a resident of West Hollywood.

Bowman said he is unable to release the name of the woman who was stabbed, but he confirmed that she did not know Le. He said she was treated and has been released from the hospital.

Too many dangerously mentally ill people on the streets, undiagnosed and/or untreated. Often, it seems that the ones we read about are young men with guns and emerging symptoms of schizophrenia. This nation’s treatment centers were largely dismantled under the Reagan administration. We need to have them back and running! This crime seems as if it may be a result of untreated illness.
