West Hollywood Elite Cheerleaders (WeHo Elite) is holding tryouts on Wednesday and on Feb. 11 for the cheerleading squad.
The tryouts will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on both days on the grassy area on the north side of West Hollywood next to the basketball courts.
WeHo elite was founded last year by Derrick Washington (Anita Cheer), Kurt Samborski (Miss BJ Swallows), Michael Brzoznowski (Bambi), Joey Green (Mahogany Paradise), Irving De La Cerda (Chitah Kandee) and Kevin Rhodes (Visa Decline) looking for a squad that would be inclusive of LGBT people as well as straight allies and would serve as a philanthropic organization.
WeHo Elite raises money for and promotes organizations such as the Trevor Project, Black Velvet films, AIDS Healthcare Foundation and other HIV/AIDS organizations,and the city of West Hollywood’s annual toy drive.
WeHo Elite has participated in Long Beach Pride, L.A. Pride, San Francisco Pride and San Diego Pride among others.
