Amber Dawn, Leah Horlick, and Vivek Shraya will be wrapping up their West Coast “Where the Mountains End” tour in Los Angeles on Thursday with an event hosted by the LGBTQ reading series homo-centric.

The event will take place at Stories Books & Cafe at 1716 W. Sunset Blvd. in Echo Park.

Amber Dawn (“Sub Rosa,” “How Poetry Saved My Life”) will be reading from her new poetry book “Where the words end and my body begins.” Leah Horlick (“Riot Lung”) reads from her new poetry book “For Your Own Good.” Vivek Shraya (“God Loves Hair,” “What I Love About Being Queer”) will read from his recent novel “She of the Mountains.”

Amber Dawn’s writing has been called “both whimsical and profound” by the Gay & Lesbian Review. Early reviews of Leah Horlick’s new work coming in April call her poetry “haunting and powerful, elegant and unsettling.” Publisher’s Weekly says Vivek Shraya’s “She of the Mountains” is “a lyrical ode to love in all its many forms.”

The evening is curated by founder Hank Henderson and hosted by Stories Books & Cafe. The event is free. Copies of all books will be for sale and writers will sign books and meet the audience afterward.

Since the first reading in January of 2010, homo-centric has been the only ongoing LGBTQ reading series in Los Angeles. Some 300 people have shared their words at a homo-centric reading, hosted by Stories Books & Cafe in Echo Park. homo-centric has also been a part of the City of West Hollywood Pride Festival, the West Hollywood Book Fair and Install: WeHo with APT3F.
