Dogs and the people who love them will gather at West Hollywood Park on Saturday for the third annual “Pawsapalooza,” a family- and dog-friendly festival that celebrates all things canine.
The festivities will begin with a morning dog walk followed by a myriad of activities. There will be a costume contest with prizes and celebrity judges — categories include: Day at the Beach, Night on the Town, Doggie Doppelganger (lookalike) and a Grand Prize. There will also be a search-and-rescue demonstration, as well as agility and frisbee demonstrations. The event will feature booths with dog-friendly products and services, free giveaways and a selection of food trucks serving a variety of food and drinks. There will be activities for kids, including face painting and balloon artists.
Pawsapalooza is hosted by PAWS/LA, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization with more than 25 years of experience helping low-income seniors and those living with a life-threatening or chronic illness by providing essential animal-care services.
Pawsapalooza will take place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at West Hollywood Park, 647 N. San Vicente Blvd. south of Santa Monica. The festival is free and open to the public. Parking will be available in the adjacent five-story parking structure for a fee. Dogs are welcome and encouraged to attend — leashes are required.
More information about PAWSAPALOOZA, including a complete list of festival exhibitors, is available online. For additional information, please contact Diego Ortiz at PAWS/LA at (213) 741-1950 x105 or at [email protected].
