The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department said this afternoon that three men arrested as suspects in several armed robberies in West Hollywood’s Norma Triangle last weekend have been identified and charged. In a press release this afternoon, the department said two of the suspects are juveniles, who by law cannot be identified. They are being detained on robbery charges. The third suspect is Jeremy Ciricuti, 21, who is being held on a robbery charge in lieu of $50,000 bail. Ciricuti, who is Latino, is a native of South Central Los Angeles and identifies himself as a self-employed tattoo artist.
The men were stopped around 10 p.m. yesterday by Beverly Hills police officers on Sunset Boulevard near Hammond as they drove the same car caught in a video of one of the Aug. 9 robberies. The Beverly Hills police notified the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, whose deputies took the men into custody.
The robbery caught on an apartment building video camera was of a West Hollywood man who was walking his dogs on North Wetherly Drive near Cynthia Street. The video, posted above, shows the two robbers pulling a gun and knife and removing a cell phone and keys from the man’s rear pocket. They then headed for a parked car and drove away. The same men apparently committed another robbery on Hilldale Avenue near Cynthia Street and a third on Doheny Drive near Cynthia.
This person was probably going through hard times with debts. And had no choice but to do it.If that were you would have done if no one was there to help.
I was robbed at gunpoint last May, at Larrabee and Cynthia. Sgt. Bowman has never returned a call or an e-mail, despite my possessing evidence that may have led to the suspects (protip: you rob a guy carrying a blank check, among other things, don’t proceed to cash it.)
No neighborhood is safe in a major city! Look what your surrounded by in a 10 mile radius. How many people visit Sunset, Hollywood, Santa Monica blvd, and Beverly Hills in a week or month? How many are criminalls calculating? You’ll never know but you have think. Criminals will always seek neighborhoods that are considered nice not necessarily rich. I am always on guard everywhere I’ve lived. I have lived on Cynthia over 15 years. We had gay bashings here but that dropped because of what I believe of a good justice system. Los Angles crime we are all within… Read more »
What in the world is the LACS?
So someone decided it would be a good crime deterrence method to place an LACS patrol car on lower Wetherly. It has been there since early Saturday AM at least. I hope it’s one that is out of commission and not needed elsewhere.
Wow, 3Dozen have signed up so far 4 the LAPD taught awareness/self defense class, in LASD jurisdiction. Interesting
Here is a little trick I use when I walk my dog at night to keep safe. I WEAR A HOODIE. In less than 5 minutes one night while walking my dog at 11, 3 then 2 then 3 cop cars circled and watched me for nearly a block. I laughed to myself, because I figured out in my head exactly why they were so interested in me and my dog.
A shout out to Hank & WeHoVille – they elevated this story and gave it appropriate perspective. It likely reinforced LASD’s efforts to catch the perps. Though it did serve as an excuse for some overreacting hysterics in the comments (as well as inaccurate information), the free exchange of perspectives is also a vital part of this community. One thing my neighbors in the Norma Triangle need to understand – insisting on great patrolling here, when these incidents are rare, means taking away patrols on areas of the city that need them more. I wouldn’t mind an occasional squad car… Read more »
That footage is TOTALLY SCARY. As a dog owner in weho, that guy could have easily been a half a dozen or more similar neighbors who walk their dogs regularly. It was too real but great to see and be more alert.
I have a giant ‘scary looking’ sweet dog that NOBODY would come near …. but still, this victim (age, dogs, street setting, night) could have been anyone on my block.
One of this armed robber’s Facebook page Likes is “Bull’s Eye Gunsmith Shop.” Amazing. https://www.facebook.com/jeremy.ciricuti
This is great news! But why is this 21yo kid and his friends out doing this in the first place? And why time-after-time are minorities the culprits? I’m not bigoted here. I want the best for everyone…but why do we consistently see black or latino people acting out in aggression or violence? It’s certain rare to see white, asian, native american, indian, etc engage in this kind of criminal activity? I’d like to see statistics on this kind of stuff in Weho. It’s just sad.
Great news!
