The L-Project’s Frida Fest, honoring Frida Kahlo and Little Frida’s café, will be held on Saturday in Fiesta Hall at Plummer Park, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd. near North Vista. The event, which runs from 1 to 6 p.m., will include live performances by Irene Diaz, Aunjel Adams, Cyn Da’ Poet, Magaly LaVoz de Oro, as well as music by DJ Joyful and DJ Lancia.
The event is free, but donations are welcome. Free parking is available on the lots to the north of the park at Fountain and to the south on Santa Monica Boulevard. There will be food, wine-tasting, artists showing their work, exhibitors showing their products, a best Frida Kahlo costume contest, and entertainment starting at 3 p.m. The City of West Hollywood is co-sponsoring this event as well as several local stores and restaurants. The L-Project is non-profit organization that serves lesbians with cultural, educational, and social activities where they live in greater Los Angeles, in West Hollywood, and on-line.
