WeHo Chamber of Commerce Announces ‘Creative City’ Awards Winners

The West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of its annual Creative City Awards, which will be presented at a ceremony on Nov. 4.

WeHo Chamber of CommerceThe Chamber uses the awards to recognize businesses that have shown innovation and creativity in their business model. Chamber members, its board of directors and its special events committee chose the six award winners for innovation in their approach to business and/or creative merits in the products and services they offer. The Chamber also chooses a Lifetime Award honoree who has made significant contributions to West Hollywood. The criterion for selection is that the business be a West Hollywood Chamber Member and have made significant contributions to the West Hollywood community.

The awards, the winners and the criteria for winning are as follows:

— Creative Concept Award, Cedars-Sinai’s OR-360, a business that is an innovator of a cool new concept, product or service.

— Corporate Innovation Award, Restoration Hardware, a business that has shown creative innovation in their corporate business model.

— John Chase Art & Design Award, The London West Hollywood, a business that falls into the categories of art, performance art, fashion, design, architecture or any other creative arts realm.

— Creative Communications Award, WEHOville.com, a business within public relations, marketing, outdoor media, branding, televisual arts, copyrighting, technology, social media, graphic design, and writing.

— Weho Attraction Award, P.U.M.P. Restaurant and Lounge, a business that attracts visitors to West Hollywood or caters to the visitor and tourism market.

— Creative Community Service Award, The Trevor Project, a business or individual who has shown exemplary service to the community philanthropically, or as a volunteer, an ambassador, a non-profit or representative of government.

— Lifetime Achievement Award, to Alberto Borrelli owner of B2V Salon in West Hollywood. In 1985, Borrelli, with Umberto Savone, opened Borrelli Salon. Borrelli Salon boasted a salon deli, jewelry, gifts and clothing, with a central focus on a large retail center carrying most of the major hair, skin and make up lines of the day. What made Borrelli Salon stand out was the innovative concept of individual suites on the second level where entrepreneurial stylists were able to open their own salon businesses.

The award event begins at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at The London West Hollywood with a reception and silent auction sponsored by the Beverly Center with musical entertainment, a dinner and the awards ceremony at 8 p.m., sponsored by Cedars-Sinai and Wells Fargo, followed by an after party.
