The Los Angeles LGBT Center will host a discussion this coming Tuesday on the dynamics of crystal meth in gay/bisexual men over 50 as the latest installment of its ongoing Big Queer Convo series. Moderated by West Hollywood City Councilmember John Duran, the free forum entitled “The Aging of Meth” will include interventionist Brad Lamm and current Mr. CSW Leather Jeffrey Erdman as panelists.

“One of the reasons why many older men turn to meth is because it allows them to recapture their youth and feel vibrant again,” said Mike Rizzo, manager of the Center’s crystal meth recovery services. “Gay/bisexual men who start to use meth later in life tend to have more financial resources, which prolongs their use of the drug, often with devastating consequences. Men in their 50s and 60s have a difficult time to rebound economically and emotionally after meth has taken away everything they spent their entire lives building.”

The forum will be followed by a reception with refreshments. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. and conclude at 9:30 p.m. It will take place at the Center’s Renberg Theatre, The Village at Ed Gould Plaza, 1125 N. McCadden Place in Los Angeles. Admission and parking are free. To RSVP visit or call (323) 860-7300
