A broken water main flooded streets and sent water into two apartment units this afternoon in West Hollywood.
The break was reported about 3:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of Harratt Street near Larrabee, according to a fire department dispatcher. The flooded units were below street level, he said. A utility crew was at the scene.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
It’s interesting that it took at least 8 hours to stop the water. The break was reported at 3:45 and when I came home at 10 it was still rushing down Palm. At 7:00 there was only one Weho employee standing on the corner. Beverly Hills Water was no where in sight. When 3 men and a truck showed up they just stood around talking casually.
